The Vannes real estate market
The coastal town of Vannes is one of the most beautiful bays in the world. Its proximity to the Gulf of Morbihan has encouraged buyers to invest in the town. Houses are the most sought-after properties, and this trend has led to a rise in prices, which has also been reflected in the value of apartments.
The most sought-after areas near Vannes in Morbihan include Carnac, Quiberon, Larmor-Plage, Lorient, Arradon, Sarzeau, Presqu'Île de Rhuys, Larmor-Baden and Baden.
An expert in luxury real estate in southern Brittany, the agency presents a wide range of charming properties, including private islands, ancient estates, historic residences, châteaux and manor houses.
Vannes: history and heritage
By the end of the Middle Ages, Vannes had become one of Brittany's major cities. During the 12th and 13th centuries, a number of construction projects were launched to mark an urban renaissance, including the rebuilding of the cathedral and maintenance of the ramparts.
As the 15th century approached, the Château de l'Hermine became the preferred residence of the Dukes of Brittany. The structure fell into disrepair and was dismantled in the 17th century. A splendid mansion was built in its place in the 18th century, bearing the name of its owner: Hôtel Lagorce. Today, the hotel is still called “Château de l'Hermine”, in memory of the ancient fortress that remains deeply rooted in the hearts and minds of the local inhabitants.
Since 1971, the Lorient Interceltic Festival has brought together groups from Celtic countries and regions. The event showcases this rich musical heritage, from ancient melodies to folk masterpieces, rock, jazz and symphonic melodies.
The Vannes team draws on its expertise in the high-end real estate market to bring customers' projects to life. The real estate agency benefits from the resources of the worldwide Sotheby's International Realty network to guarantee an ever higher level of service to each and every customer.
